Most men I know do not like to attend weddings. I want to remind you of a wedding that we are all looking forward to if we know the Lord as our Savior. We read in REVELATION 19:7 "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." Every person who is truly born again is part of the body of Christ and will be part of the bride at the marriage of the Lamb! The Church is made up of all who have been saved since Pentecost and who will be saved before the Rapture of the Church. If you are born again you will be present at that wonderful wedding in heaven.
Once the Great Tribulation of the last days comes to an end (REVELATION 18) we see our Lord returning to this earth to take back what is His. He will rule over this earth for 1,000 glorious years! But before that takes place there will be this wonderful wedding, the marriage of the Lamb, that will take place in heaven.
This wedding will be a wonderful time of celebration. This will be the hour that has been prayed for and greatly anticipated by the Bride of Christ, the Church, for a long, long time. John, in REVELATION 19 tells us that heaven will ring with "ALLELUIAS!" Alleluia is an abbreviation of the word ‘HALLELUJAH" and it means "Praise The Lord!" And that call to join in the celebration will be extended to all the redeemed saints who are in heaven. There won’t be anyone there who will not join in the praise! Furthermore, John tells us that we will be praising our Lord for who He is and for what He has done.
John also tells us in REVELATION 19:9 of those who will be "called, or invited" to this wedding in heaven. The Bride, the Church, is composed of all the saved from Pentecost to the Rapture, so those invited will be the Old Testament saints and the Tribulation saints. Quite an impressive guest list when you think of Abraham, Isaac, David, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Daniel and so many more! And at that wedding the Lord will have made His Bride, the Church, without spot or blemish through the Judgement Seat of Christ. We certainly don’t look like the chaste virgin of Christ on this earth all the time. But on that day the Church will be perfect, will be beautiful, will be without any blemish! And John makes it clear that it will be the BRIDEGROOM - not the Bride - who will be praised. Every eye in heaven will be on Jesus. On earth the wedding is all about the bride - no one seems to even notice the poor groom - except maybe his mother! Ah, but at this wonderful wedding in Heaven, all eyes will be on Jesus, the Bridegroom of the Church!
John was also told of the absolute certainty that this wedding would be a reality. We read in REVELATION 19:9 "These are the true sayings of God." In other words, John could rest assured, and so can we, that everything we find in God’s holy Word is absolute truth. With the world situation what it is, we should all be looking forward to our wedding day in Heaven!
