On behalf of our church family, I want to extend to you an invitation to join us for worship. You will find a warm welcome waiting you when you attend our services. We seek to lift up the Lord Jesus and to be a blessing to those who are in our services. It has been my privilege to serve as pastor of East Athens Baptist Church since July of 1980. The church began as a mission of First Baptist Church, Athens, Tennessee in November of 1926. Two years later, on November 26, 1928, the mission was constituted as a church with thirty members. After much growth through the years, the church moved to its present location in 1947. There have been several building programs through the years, including a family life center which was completed in 1995, and a new house of worship which was completed in 2002. Membership has grown from those thirty original members to over eleven hundred members at present. We are affliated with the McMinn-Meigs Association of Baptists(www.mcminnmeigsbaptists.org), the Tennessee Baptist Convention (www.tnbaptist.org), and the Southern Baptist Convention (www.sbc.net).
